nEXT PROJECT: a cORSET

A tad bit of inspiration. Found a corset, very simple one, in a charity shop in Edinburgh, and am thinking why not cut it up and make my very own one? Plus I get to use my books on corsetry that Im about to pass on to the next lucky enthusiast...

So, this was my latest project. I know I haven't posted anything within the week of writing that as a vow to myself. So here it is...

Am getting into researching before acctually making, which is interesting. It seems like English students are waaay more used to this way of working, but it's just beginning to make sense to me. This is an embellishment project that we just finished in Uni, one of the most fun projects so far, plus made me rethink use of colour. I almost always go for petroleum blue and a vibrant orange as base colours, but managed to stay away from at least the first one.
Below are a few images that I found interesting, mostly for the colours and the blending of colours. CuteCircuit, a design company that works with LED lights in dress. This is the Galaxy Dress, check it out live here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rX9FOGFxN9A
Cute Circuit is otherwise probably most famous for dressing Katy Perry for the 2011 MET Gala.

Ive got sooo much stuff! Collected, found, trial and errors. The rug in the background is croched from left over strips of fabric made when I was hiding out from the world.

Katie Jones, graduated from Central St Martins in 2011 methinks. Amazing knits and very inspiring. Below a link to her graduate collection, from which this image is taken as well.

So, this is what I came up with, but I will definitely continue with embellishing!
