Puuuublished - Happy bracelets!

Soo, despite my akwardness with the word happy, it's got a certain ring to it. And I name everything I have. My knitting machine is Edith, my Overlock is Gunnel, My old computer Gittan and so on. My bike is Ridge, am planning a voluptious mane of hair to be attached on the frame of it to celebrate it's namesake, Ridge from Days of Our Lives. Nothing makes you think less than daytime drama.

Anyhow, so Im naming these bracelets Happy bracelets. Even though "happy" sounds like a pretty boring place to be in without questioning it and if it would be without aspirations for something more. But, as for jewelery, they're pretty darn happy!

Happy Bracelets
They are on Etsy for sale since.... now!

A day on Etsy

Amazing stuff from Rouge Pony (http://www.etsy.com/shop/rougepony), feather headpieces and dresses mixing the exotic from Scandinavian fields and statement tribal pieces! Aaawesome!

http://karinkirsten.blogspot.com/

So spending a day exploring Etsy.com, an online shop well known for its range of designers and craft makers selling there. Am getting myself sorted to give it a go myself. Does seem like I need some pictures though, and someone to model it for me, since I'd rather be taking pics than acting in them.. Anyhow more to come.

Made By Elmo

After browsing the net for clothes tags to attach to what I make, came up with this genious idea - why not make your own? Although, lino doesnt really go with textiles, and didnt realize that when you print, the image mirrors...
Lägg till bildtextOtherwise have been enjoying a suuuuunny day in Brighton, hopefully this will be the weather for the next ummm two weeks til I go back to Sweden. Can't wait to go kayaking in and around Stockholm though! And relieable sunshine, warm days and nature EVERYWHERE!

Pica Pica Fashion All-Dayer!!!

Had a smashing day and night at The Hydrant in Brighton Sunday, to all who were there, AMAZING! And the modelling crew were smashing, very circusey and all coming together immensely well!
My dress! I think it took scraps from 4 jeans (everyone seems to cut off the legs to get shorts now) and 3 whole jeans to make. Plastic emproidery on the top, green front and neck details from a 1950's utility jacket.

Tom doing moves fit for a Eurovision act in the 80's.

My amazing model Kim!

Me and gorgeous Head!

High on Life

"The health service issued 39.1m prescriptions for drugs to tackle depression in England in 2009, compared with 20.1m in 1999 – a 95% jump. Doctors handed out 3.18m more prescriptions last year than in 2008, almost twice the annual rise seen in preceding years, according to previously unpublished statistics released by the NHS's Business Services Authority."

New documentary : Birgitta Stenberg

So just found this link for a new documentary about Birgitta Stenberg. For those who don't know who she is, find out. To me, she's just one of those amazingly inspiring people who don't seem to give a shit about what others might find normal and reasonable. Not that she acts out in furious rages or poses nude for playboy (she's about eighty years old now so I would acctually buy that issue), but in a low key way. She just lives by what she believes in.

As she says in the docymentary: "I don't know what I am, I don't know who I am or why I am. I have no father and I have no mother". I love that. The idea that you really don't need to define what you are, or who you are. The important thing is to go with what feels good for you. And I know it might sound strange not knowing who you are, yeah  I could pick myself out in a line-up, but that's just the exterior self, how I look and the gestures I make. But WHO you are is a massively constricting idea. For me that is.

Going through issues of my own, I find recognition and sense in seeing myself and everyone as free spirits, I know it sounds all hippie mumbo jumbo, but just think about it. There's nothing saying you can't do whatever your heart's desiring. Don't hurt people, not good karma, that's all. And of course, if you decide where you want to be, there is work to be done to get yourself there. I think most people want something, but either they're not sure what exactly, or they instantly talks themselves out of even trying because they see it as beeing impossible. I do both, but where's the sense in that really? If you don't know, why not just try something, it would bring you in one direction or another.

Onesie Xtravaganza!

Mine is made from polyester fleece and thick, comfy jersey as well as embellishment in PVC.
My brother's made from the same jersey, just two different colours and screenprinted with my acid print. Details are in nylon shiny blue fabric (don't quite know the name for it) and details in PVC and fake fur.

So what do you say, does anything say siblinghood at the same time as whooop-were-gonna-have-an-amazing-time-dancin as matching onesies?

The first one, that I'm wearing, I made a couple of weeks ago and it's become my best friend during the coldish, moist English winter. As well as the obvious choice for a night out swingin my furries around, as you would say in Swedish.. More about furries later, a whole different story.
Anyhow, I hope my brother's gonna find his as comfy as mine.
